Sparkling gets great review by James Halliday http://www.ghostrock.com.au/cgi-bin/page.cgi?ghostrockS+25#126 26/02/2010

Our Catherine Sparkling (2003) was given 94 points out of a possible 100 putting it into the outstanding category in the 2010 edition of the James Halliday Australian Wine Companion. This has helped to increased our vineyard rating to 4 stars. Sadly our 2003 vintage is now sold out but our much anticipated 2007 Catherine sparkling is due to be released around October this year. Watch this space...

Rod Westbrook Retrospective http://www.ghostrock.com.au/cgi-bin/page.cgi?ghostrockS+25#37 01/04/2010

Rod Westbrook was a familiar face in North-west Tasmania and his self named 'Rodegrams' were gaining quite a following when he died in January 2010. Rod had lived with Spinobifida all his life yet despite the constraints the disease placed on him he managed to push the boundaries, stacking up a tremendous number of personal and artistic achievements. Ghost Rock was privelieged enough to hold his first solo exhibition so it seemed very fitting that they were asked to hold his retospective exhibition which hung at the cellar door during February and March 2010. We are pleased to announce that all funds raised from this exhibition (over $2000) is being kindly donated to a young girl in Sheffield who also suffers from Spinobifida so that she can purchase mobility equipment.

North West Commerce and Industry Awards 2008 http://www.ghostrock.com.au/cgi-bin/page.cgi?ghostrockS+25#95 07/04/2008

Ghost Rock Vineyard & Cellar Door once again took out the Tourism Award at the NW Commerce & Industry Awards for 2008. This follows success at the previous years Awards, where Ghost Rock took out both the Tourism Award and the Emerging/New Business Award.

Labor MHA Brenton Best said the Awards were an important way to celebrate the success of local business. He said since the vineyard & cellar door opened in April 2006 it had been extremely popular with tourists and locals alike. "Ghost Rock Vineyard provides a uniquely Tasmanian experience" he said.

2007 Best Tourism Winery http://www.ghostrock.com.au/cgi-bin/page.cgi?ghostrockS+25#96 28/03/2008

Ghost Rock's entry in this year's Tasmanian Tourism Awards took home the title of Best Tourism Winery. Quite an achievement for a family run business that's only been operating a cellar door for 18 months.

As state winners, Ghost Rock travelled to Canberra in February 2008 for the national awards, and although we didn't win the national title it was a great opportunity to network and celebrate our success.

Tasmanian Living Artists' Week - Aug 24 to Sept 2 http://www.ghostrock.com.au/cgi-bin/page.cgi?ghostrockS+25#97 20/09/2007

Ghost Rock was part of last years Tasmanian Living Artists' Week - a statewide celebration of visual arts in Tasmania. This feast of activity is organised by the team at arts@work, a business unit of Arts Tasmania.

During Tasmanian Living Artists' Week it's so easy to be part of the action. Whether its artists in residence or an evening of music, art and fine wine, there's something for everyone. Our featured artists were watercolour specialist Jan Suter and photographer Darren Rist.

Jan was artist in residence over the weekend of August 25 & 26, whilst Darren's outdoor exhibit 'from the perspective of the telephone box!' drew quite a lot of interest.

Cellar Door takes business to new level http://www.ghostrock.com.au/cgi-bin/page.cgi?ghostrockS+25#98 15/11/2006

Adding a cellar door has expanded Cate & Colin Arnold's vineyard experience. Not only have the Arnolds 'value-added' to their business, but they have also created a cultural hub at the Ghost Rock premises at Northdown, near Port Sorell. The new cellar door, which has hosted art exhibitions, jazz events, wine & cheese tastings and Tasmanian Living Writers' Week events, was officially opened in April 2006.
"It's completely changed the dynamic of our business. We've gone from having a paddock with vines on it to having an identity," Mrs Arnold said.

"It's a real experience. People like to come and taste the wine and see the vines outside. I think it's really important for vineyard cellar doors to be cultural centres in their communities. It gives people a reason to come out, not just to taste wine, but to see an exhibition or hear some jazz."
